You're lying in bed, trying and failing to sleep, when a sharp pain goes through your side. It's gone faster than it came but you are left with a panicked thought: "Dear god, I'm DYING." You know this is ludicrous, but you start to hyperventilate anyway. Not wanting to wake anyone with this stupid panic, you take it upon yourself to calm yourself down. Not an easy task, since the one who started the panic was you. By this time, the panicked thought has expanded: "Oh god, could this be kidney failure? Oh god, oh god..." and other such nonsense. The birds have eaten my trail My golden thread has been cut The flowers I left the path to pick Turn black and wither in my hands I stand and stare at them As tears fall from my face "Let me rid you of your sorrow." I...am so freaking tired and it's all my fault so I can't really complain. Well, I CAN but I don't really have the right to. Anywho, I have just had a birthday and I am scared shitless. I know that I am not old. But I am not young either and therein lies my fear. What am I if not old or young? I have just managed to reach the point where "I want to grow up and do grown up things and I can't wait to be a big girl" has turned into "why the frakking hell did I think this would be fun?" Now, I know that single sentence is probably cluing some members of my non-existent audience into how young I am to them ("to them" being the key words). I am yo
